I have devoted most of my life to the sport of skating, as a skater since the age of three, and as a coach for the past thirty-seven years. I have attained a Level 3 Certification through the National Coaching Certification Program [technical 3, practical 3, theory 3].
I have coached skaters of all levels and abilities from Pre-school/ Canskate through- Gold Test Skaters, Star- skaters and Adults as well as Competitive skaters from the Pre-Juvenile level through Senior National Competitive. I have been the coach of provincial champions of the Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice Junior and Senior level. I have had skaters on the Provincial, Select and Elite teams of our province for the past several years.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the thrill and challenge of coaching many bright, talented, aspiring competitive skaters from the Central Alberta area who have realized National and International success.
I have had the rewarding and exciting challenge to have been selected as the team coach for provincial competitions and provincial training seminars, as well the opportunity to coach the sport outreach clinics in Alberta and the N.W.T.
In 2007, I was given the exciting challenge to lead our province as the female figure skating coach for the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse N.W.T.
I have been the recipient of the 3M Coaches of Canada; “Coach of the Year Award”, voted by my peers.
I am a proud member of the Red Deer Skating Club with a history of success, a recognized presence and the bright future it holds for the up and coming athletes of tomorrow.

I have been coaching for 30 years.I have coached skaters of all levels and abiltities,right from the first step onto the ice up to competitive athletes. Currently I coach Preschool Canskate group programs and as well I am a private lessons coach. I teach all disciplines of skating: Freeskate, Dance, Interpretive and Skating Skills. I have been involved in skating since I was 4 years old. There is something special about being on the ice skating – it makes me smile and I love sharing my passion for skating. I started out my skating skating career with the red deer skating club at the age of four for fifteen years. During this time I have won five provincial titles, a national bronze medal, competed at a national and international level for several years and have also achieved quad gold. As my competitive career ended, a new one started. For the past two years I have been working for Willy Bietek Productions as a performance skater on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships. Prior to these adventures and inbetween, I have been teaching PreSchool/CanSkate as well as working on my Level 1 coaching. Skating will always be a strong passion of mine but it has been these past few adventures that has sparked a new passion for coaching. I want to help guide and give the students I teach the right tools to help achieve success within their skill level.

I have coached for 17 years. I am a busy mom of two and so fit in what coaching I can. Most recently I have been involved with CanSkate and Powerskating which is a ton of fun with the little skaters and the energy of the powerskaters is amazing. Skating will always be my favorite sport!

I started out skating at the age of 3 and throughout the years I have been a skater, coach, skating mom and most recently a judge. Coaching skaters aged 2 to adult and from beginner to gold levels in all disciplines is very rewarding. I love sharing my passion and knowledge of skating and continue to have fun on the ice. Currently, I have the opportunity to coach Canskate programs in Red Deer and Starskate in Bashaw.
